It Starts with A Spark
The Stellate team wanted a spooky social post to celebrate their 5th anniversary, which happened to fall in October. I love horror movies and all things spooky, so this was perfect for me! I approached this project like an opening credits scene. I watched a lot of Saul Bass for reference and sketched out some ideas. It was important to the team that each team member be represented as part of the whole and had a unique illustration that alluded to their personality or what they do.
Cooking Up Visual Metaphors
Creating small animations that build up to a big reveal is a favorite animation trope of mine; I really enjoy animating the smaller details that bring the piece to life. I enjoyed being able to infuse my humor into this project. It was fun to be able to represent all the people who make Stellate great!
A New Style
This was my first time animating in this texturized style. I looked up references and attended a few quick courses on YouTube University to make sure I had all the tools I needed. I love where it landed. I enjoyed being able to infuse my humor into this project.
