Collective Neuro

An illustrated look into Neuroengineering.

Illustrating Neuroscience to make it more understandable.

I worked with The Collective for Psychiatric Neuroengineering to create a series of illustrations for their website. Their mission is to use their research on neuropsychiatric diseases to help families.

The initial ask was to create a hero illustration. It was important to them that the hero illustration represented all the different types of family members they hoped to reach. The illustration also needed to call out their background in Neuroscience.

I was art-directed by the team at Stellate Communications to fine-tune the sketches. I sent through a couple of rounds to ensure that the piece represented a diverse group of ages, people, and emotions. Once the sketch was approved by the client, I moved on to rendering the sketch in a watercolor + graphite style.

I also created a series of illustrations for the Research page on their website. They wanted illustrations to punctuate the different areas of their research: Data Science & Bioinformatics, Neuroscience & Neuroenginering, and Biochemistry & Protein Engineering. I worked with the team at Stellate Communications to ensure that the scientific elements were accurately depicted in each illustration.
